3. Manipur

- Known for: Serene landscapes, including Loktak Lake (the largest freshwater lake in northeastern India), and for being the birthplace of the classical Manipuri dance.
- Culture: Primarily inhabited by the Meitei, Naga, and Kuki tribes. It has a strong martial arts tradition and is famous for traditional sports, including polo, which originated here.
4. Meghalaya

- Known for: Its beautiful hills, dense forests, and waterfalls. It is known as the “Abode of Clouds.” Popular sites include Cherrapunji and Mawsynram (some of the wettest places on Earth), and the living root bridges of Nongriat.
- Culture: Dominated by Khasi, Garo, and Jaintia tribes, with a matrilineal society where lineage and inheritance pass through the mother.
5. Mizoram

- Known for: Its rolling hills, bamboo forests, and vibrant festivals. Mizoram is often called the “Land of the Highlanders.”

6. Nagaland

- Culture: Composed of around 16 major tribes, including the Angami, Ao, and Sema, each with its unique traditions, languages, and dances.
7. Tripura

- Known for: Its palaces, temples, and bamboo handicrafts. The Ujjayanta Palace and Neermahal Palace are popular attractions.
- Culture: Inhabited by various indigenous tribes, including the Tripuri, Reang, and Jamatia. Tripura’s culture is a blend of Bengali and tribal influences.
